Beyond The Ring: nWo The Revolution

In the mid 90's a malicious group of renegades "Invaded" World Championship Wrestling shaking the landscape of the sports entertainment world and turning the tables of the Monday Night War.

Little did anyone know the shock of the century was yet to come. When Hulk Hogan did the unthinkable and turned his back on the fans. The Outsiders had officially become the New World Order and chaos ensued.

Check out this great piece of programming on the WWE Network at 9pm tonight.

Two Things: Great theme songs used by WWE

WWE have always chosen the correct theme song for the correct occasion. On today's Two Things we are going to look at two theme songs we loved.

We have looked through PPV theme songs, Raw and Smackdown themes, Superstars themes, Promo themes and even goodbye themes. Here are two theme songs that stood out for us:

I Dare You - Shinedown

Im sure all of us remember the historic event that was Wrestlemania 22 when Rey Mysterio defeated the odds and bet both Kurt Angle and Randy Orton to win his first World Heavyweight Championship. The Undertaker followed the biggest Casket we have ever seen down the ramp as he put his streak on the line against Mark Henry and John Cena attempted to put the WWE Championship on the line against Triple H and The Money in the Bank ladder match made its second appearance at Wrestlemania.

Shinedown lent their song "I Dare You" to WWE for this spectacular event and it is a song I still listen to today.

Leave The Memories Alone - Fuel

We all remember this moment when one of the greatest of all time hung up his boots and left the WWE behind him after losing to his long time friend Shawn Michaels in a great match at Wrestlemania 24. The night after on Raw Ric Flair said an emotional goodbye to the WWE Universe and it was a sight to see as the Locker Room emptied out onto the stage to pay respect to the "Nature Boy".

This song will forever make me think of all the great moments Ric Flair has given us inside and outside the ring.

Raw Segment Revealed

WWE COO Triple H kicked off last nights live edition of Smackdown by addressing the dramatic and controversial Royal Rumble PPV.

The COO spoke about the controversy with Roman Reigns winning. He then went on to show footage to refresh our memories. Triple H has promised that he is going to put an end to the controversy on Monday night Raw next week in Denver, CO.

The announcement he will make will "Shake the WWE Universe to it's core".

New Title Match Announced for FastLane

It was announced last night that Nikki Bella will be defending the Divas Championship against Paige at WWE's newest PPV Fastlane on February 22nd.

The Fastlane PPV is shaking up to be a success and with it being the last PPV before Wrestlemania, here is the line up so far:

John Cena vs Rusev
Nikki Bella vs Paige (WWE Divas Championship)
Triple H and Sting face to face confrontation

WWE Smackdown Results 29 January 2015

With Raw having to postpone its usual Live Arena show this week due to the weather in Hartford, WWE aired a very special live edition of Smackdown last night.

Here is all the results from last nights Smackdown:

Roman Reigns Interrupted Triple H
Not even the freezing temperatures could cool off the hottest show on Thursday nights as WWE COO Triple H kicked off SmackDown LIVE by addressing WWE’s wild week, which included WWE Network surpassing 1 million subscribers! The Game declared that he will deal with his "problem" — something the NFL has failed to do with "Deflategate" — after challenging the vigilante Sting to meet face-to-face at WWE Fast Lane.

Triple H soon turned his attention to the Royal Rumble, stating that he will address the Royal Rumble Match’s controversial finish by making an announcement Monday night on Raw that will likely "shake the WWE Universe to its core." Despite Roman Reigns’ arrival and assurance that he won the over-the-top-rope extravaganza, The King of Kings quickly introduced The Big Dog to his next opponent, Big Show.

Roman Reigns def. Big Show
After weeks of explosive encounters, Roman Reigns went head-to-head with Big Show in a massive collision. Despite just learning of Triple H's upcoming "announcement" regarding his Royal Rumble Match victory, the powerhouse Superstar continued his rapid rise through the WWE Universe after delivering a giant Spear on The World's Largest Athlete to pick up the victory.

Ryback answered Seth Rollins' Open Challenge
After boasting over his Royal Rumble performance where he came within one second of beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, Seth Rollins issued an open challenge that was answered by a hungry Ryback.

A match never got started, however, as J&J Security pounced on The Big Guy. Before long, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler arrived to even the odds, sending Mr. Money in the Bank and his security team running for the hills.

Tyson Kidd def. Jey Uso
Amid an action-packed clash between Tyson Kidd and WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso, Cesaro jumped onto the ring apron, providing enough of a distraction for "Nattie's husband" to take control of the match and pick up the victory over the high-flying Samoan Superstar.

John Cena Confronted Rusev
Following their heated backstage encounter at Royal Rumble Fallout, John Cena and Rusev again stood toe-to-toe, this time inside a WWE ring.

The Super Athlete and Cenation leader traded barbs, but just as they seemed ready to fight, the United States Champion decided to retreat. What will happen when the undefeated Rusev squares off with the 15-time World Champion for the first time at WWE Fast Lane on Feb. 22?

The Bella Twins attacked Paige
Resembling a scene straight out of "Mean Girls," The Bella Twins interrupted Renee Young's backstage interview with Paige to put down The Diva of Tomorrow's appearance. Perhaps upset that Nikki has to defend her Divas Championship at WWE Fast Lane against the British beauty, The Bellas then attacked their "Total Divas" co-star, reminding her of the power of Twin Magic

The Ascension def. Gold & Stardust
Coming off an impressive victory over The New Age Outlaws at the Royal Rumble, The Ascension continued to show little respect for the rest of WWE’s tag team division before introducing their SmackDown opponents, Stardust & Goldust, to the wasteland.

After Stardust tagged himself in, prompting a brief dispute between the bizarre duo, Konnor and Viktor laid waste to the starry-eyed Superstar via the Fall of Man.

Bray Wyatt's Creepy Forecast
Coming off an impressive performance in the Royal Rumble Match, the enigmatic Bray Wyatt delivered maybe his most mysterious message yet.

Daniel Bryan def. Kane in a Casket Match
Daniel Bryan and Kane’s heated history came to a head on SmackDown Live as the two former tag team partners turned bitter enemies clashed in a hellacious Casket Match.

Both Superstars narrowly escaped getting enclosed inside the horrific casket as they battled inside and outside the ring. It seemed as though WWE’s Director of Operations had the victory lined up after smashing a steel chair onto the "Yes!" Man’s back, but it was a running knee from the leader of the "Yes!" Movement that would allow Bryan enough time to shut the casket door and pick up the victory.

Two Things: Superstars we would like to return

On todays edition of "Two Things" we talk about "Two Superstars we would like to see return to a WWE ring". It was difficult to narrow it down to just two but we are sure we have picked the right two. So who have we picked.

Goldberg

“Who's next?”
That was the question sports-entertainment fans were asking in 1998 as the explosive rookie known as Goldberg smashed his way through the World Championship Wrestling roster. From September 1997 until December 1998, the former Atlanta Falcons defensive tackle went undefeated, crushing icons like Big Show and Curt Hennig en route to earning an unprecedented record of 173-0. Armed with two signature maneuvers — The Spear and The Jackhammer — Goldberg displayed a devastating mix of raw power and unbridled intensity that made him unstoppable.

After WCW was purchased by WWE in 2001, WWE fans eagerly awaited the arrival of the powerhouse, but it would be two long years before Goldberg entered a WWE ring. On March 31, 2003, the wrecking machine finally made his WWE debut, spearing The Rock on Raw. This confrontation led to a showdown between the two icons at Backlash with Goldberg buzz sawing through The Great One.

In the following months, the brute continued to dominate the competition, smashing Chris Jericho, Mark Henry and many others on a warpath to the top of WWE. To get there, however, Goldberg had to get through Triple H, which is no easy feat. The big man found this out at SummerSlam in the Elimination Chamber when The Game defeated him after a vicious sledgehammer shot.
Goldberg finally defeated The Cerebral Assassin for the World Heavyweight Championship one month later at Unforgiven before deciding to leave the ring for good.

His last major bout occurred at WrestleMania XX where he defeated the intimidating Brock Lesnar in impressive fashion. This final match of the former World Heavyweight Champion's WWE career cemented his legacy as one of the most dominants individuals ever witnessed in sports-entertainment.

Who could Goldberg face if he was to return to WWE ? Ryback or maybe Brock Lesnar just to name a few.

Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle’s intensity was unmatched; his technical wrestling skills unparalleled. Possessing an unprecedented competitive streak that fueled him to become a 1996 Olympic gold medalist, Angle dominated the amateur ranks before emerging as one of the most successful WWE Superstars of all time.

Four years after earning Olympic gold, Angle entered WWE and immediately became one of the most competitive individuals to set foot in the squared circle. Just weeks after his debut, Angle, who preached the virtues of his three I’s (Intensity, Integrity and Intelligence), won the European Championship.

During his tenure in WWE, The Wrestling Machine tussled with the greatest Superstars of The Attitude Era, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H and Big Show and even battled John Cena in the Cenation leader’s debut. But it’s the Olympic gold medalist’s WrestleMania 21 bout against Shawn Michaels that stands as not only Angle’s best match, but also maybe the best WWE match ever.

Angle left WWE in 2006, but his seven years in WWE certainly raised the level of competitiveness for the entire WWE roster and left the WWE Universe with memories of some of the greatest bouts of all time. Oh it’s true, it’s true.

Kurt Angle has said he would have loved to return to the WWE for one final run and as a fan I would be happy to have him back. Maybe Angle could be the one to stop Rusev. Who knows.

Possible Wrestlemania 31 Changes

As noted recently, Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan was rumored to be in the works for WrestleMania 31, however WWE has changed their mind and are expected to go in a different direction.

The recent interaction between Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan is not just social media chatter, as WWE is currently building towards an eventual Ziggler vs. Bryan match for WrestleMania.

Speaking of WrestleMania, another battle royal is expected for this year’s show. There is no definitive word yet as to whether or not the battle royal, which is designed to get as many talents on the card as possible, will be another Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, although there was talk at one point that the match would become a new annual tradition.

Who will be the next Hall of Fame Inductee announced?

It was reported several weeks ago that WWE was considering inducting wrestling legend “The Crippler” Ray Stevens into the 2015 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame, with his former tag-team partner Pat Patterson being the guy to induct him.

It appears that WWE is going forward with the Stevens induction for later this year at the ceremony during WrestleMania 31 weekend in Santa Clara, California.
WWE recently started putting together material for Stevens’ induction announcement video package, and he is likely going to be the next inductee announced, possibly on next Monday’s edition of WWE RAW.

TWO THINGS: Two Championship Belts we would love to see back

Do you ever think that WWE could have more championship belts or would you like to see retired championships brought back into the limelight. We have picked two championship belts that we would like to see back in the WWE.

The Hardcore Championship

The Hardcore Championship was one of the most unique championships to ever be defended in WWE. It was originally given to Mick Foley, then known as Mankind, by the Chairman, Mr. McMahon. The rules of how to defend the championship even evolved with time, and it was eventually defended under 24/7 rules. That meant that the Hardcore Champion could be pinned at any time of day, any day of the week as long as a referee was around to make the three-count. The Hardcore Championship found its way around the waists of a very eclectic group of Superstars ranging from the likes of Mankind, Crash Holly, Big Show, Hardcore Holly, Big Boss Man and Kane, among numerous others.

If WWE were to bring back the Hardcore Championship who would they give it to and would the 24/7 rule still apply? Maybe Rob Van Dam can have a run with the Hardcore Championship.

The Cruiserweight Championship

Since its inception in WCW in late 1991, the Cruiserweight Championship has had a roller coaster of an existence. Its first obstacle was overcoming an almost four-year lull when WCW failed to re-establish the championship after stripping Brad Armstrong of it in 1992. Since that time, several other questionable decisions were made -- most notably when both Lenny Lane and The Artist were stripped of their titles in controversial fashion. In addition, the Cruiserweight Championship also found its way around the waists of some women's wrestlers including Madusa. Despite all this, the Cruiserweight Championship has become the highest accolade in cruiserweight wrestling. It is because of the recent efforts of Superstars such as Gregory Helms, Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble that the Cruiserweight Championship is held in such high regard.

So who would be a good candidate to hold the Cruiserweight Championship if it were to ever return. Personally I think Tyson Kid would make a great champion as a heel and WWE could do so much with him.

NXT Tonight

Tonight on WWE NXT, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens sign the contract for their non-title grudge match at TakeOver on February 11th. What will happen when the friends turned rivals come face to face?

Find out at 1am as NXT airs on the WWE Network.

Cena vs Rusev

As announced earlier in the week John Cena will go one on one with Rusev at WWE's newest PPV "Fastlane" on February 22nd in the FedExForum Memphis Tennesse. The one question that is on everyone's mind is will John Cena be the first to win by pinfall over the Bulgarian Brute.

Everything WWE is predicting that the two will collide again at Wrestlemania 31 with the outcome being that Cena has pinned Rusev.

Bubba Ray Dudley Update

Bubba Ray Dudley was interviewed by the official WWE website about his surprise appearance in Sunday’s 30-man Royal Rumble match in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
When asked how the appearance came bout, Dudley said,

“WWE called me about a month ago and said, ‘Would you like an opportunity in the Royal Rumble?’” And I said, ‘Absolutely.’ I showed up here today and they said, ‘We want you to be a surprise.’ I thought that was great, and I hid all day.”

Dudley also spoke about the chances of returning full-time either as a singles competitor or as one-half of the Dudley Boys tag-team alongside his longtime partner, D-Von Dudley.

“If the WWE Universe and the WWE higher-ups want to see us here, then yes, hopefully there is a future,” said Dudley. “I really say it’s up to the fans. By the reaction tonight, I’d say the fans would love to see us back. And hopefully we can do it.”

Check out the complete interview at WWE.com.

ORIGINAL: As seen at the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday night, former WWE Superstar Bubba Ray Dudley, the former “Bully Ray” in TNA, made a surprise appearance in the 30-man match.

For those wondering, Dudley’s partner, D-Von Dudley, was not backstage at the event as we noted earlier, which is why R-Truth was used to do the double-team “Dudley Boys” spots in the match.

Bubba’s return on Sunday night was said to be a one-time deal as of right now, although WWE officials are said to be very open to bringing him back. The two sides are in talks and many believe he’ll be back full-time, The deal may have already been reached.

Possible Wrestlemania 31 plans for Daniel Bryan and Sheamus Return Update

Sheamus was not backstage at the WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday and it was another creative decision that has delayed his return to action.

It was noted during Wrestlemania season last year that WWE had plans for Sheamus to face Daniel Bryan in New Orleans. Plans were changed when CM Punk left the company and Bryan ended up being pushed to the Wrestlemania main event instead.

Word coming out of the Royal Rumble this week is that plans for Sheamus vs Bryan at Wrestlemania are back on for this year's event in Santa Clara. The two wrestled to a No Contest in a Lumberjack Match at Wrestlemania 27 and then Sheamus defeated Bryan in 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 28.

Plans still call for Sheamus to return as a heel and it looks like he could be getting involved with Bryan upon returning.

WWE 24

The premiere episode of the original series, WWE24 takes you behind the spectacle of Wrestlemania XXX and its most compelling stories: the jaw dropping end to Undertaker's Wrestlemania winning streak, the Ultimate Warrior's heart warming return to the WWE after an 18 year absence, the inspiring presence of eight year old WWE fan Connor Michalek and his battle against cancer and Daniel Bryan's infectious YES movement that culminates with Wrestlemania glory.

If you have the network I urge you to check it out as it tells a great story.

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar meet Face to Face

Arnold Schwarzenegger to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame 2015

With Wrestlemania season upon us the WWE have began announcing this years inductees into the Hall of Fame.

Macho Man Randy Savage was the first inductee to be announced for this years Hall of Fame with a great tribute from present WWE superstars gimmicking Macho Mans trademark "OH Yeah".

TMZ broke the story that Arnold Schwarzenegger is to be announced as the second inductee.
WWE has confirmed the story by making their own announcement shortly after TMZ ran their story, announcing Schwarzenegger will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame, which already features Mike Tyson and Donald Trump.

Schwarzenegger has made a number of appearances on RAW and Smackdown over the years, and he also inducted Bruno Sammartino into the 2013 Hall of Fame class.

There has been speculation on who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year with names such as Kevin Nash and JBL being thrown around as well as The Undertaker if he is unable to compete again.

Casket Match Set for Smackdown and JR Questions WM 31

It was announced during RAW that Daniel Bryan will face Kane in a casket match on Thursday’s live episode of WWE Smackdown. This match makes for the third straight televised match between the two (not counting the Royal Rumble)

The Royal Rumble is available for pre-order on Amazon. It is set for release on February 24th.

Jim Ross posted the following in his latest blog, questioning the concept of giving the WrestleMania main event to the Royal Rumble winner:

“Perhaps its just me but is getting an automatic Title berth at WrestleMania a good idea for the Rumble match winner? Am I over thinking this matter or does the stipulation really narrow the field to only a small handful of viable candidates?”
